Built For Serious Saltwater Fishing

The reel is constructed around a strong K Alloy aluminium body and aluminium rotor. This rigid construction helps minimise flex when fighting powerful fish, keeping the internal gearing correctly aligned and allowing maximum winding power to be transferred through the reel.

Westin has also incorporated 14 seals throughout the reel along with an IPX5 water resistance rating. This provides increased protection against saltwater and helps shield important internal components from the harsh environments regularly encountered during sea fishing.

The forged aluminium spool is double anodised to provide additional resistance against corrosion and is braid ready for use with modern high performance braided lines.

Powerful Sealed Carbon Drag

At the heart of the W4 W SW 10000 is a powerful sealed Carbon Matrix drag system.

The 10000 model uses a five washer carbon drag arrangement designed to provide smooth and consistent pressure throughout a fight.

With a maximum drag pressure of 21 kg, the reel has the stopping power required when targeting large and powerful species.

The sealed drag design also helps protect the drag washers against saltwater contamination, maintaining consistent performance over prolonged use.

The W4 W SW 10000 features a CNC machined hard brass main gear.

The brass gearing has been selected for its strength and durability, allowing the reel to cope with the considerable loads generated when fighting large fish or retrieving heavy lures.

Combined with the rigid aluminium body, the gearing remains securely supported under pressure, helping provide smooth and powerful winding performance.

Smooth Sealed Bearing System

A 5 plus 1 sealed stainless steel bearing system provides smooth operation while offering additional protection against saltwater intrusion.

The reel also features a sealed one piece stainless steel instant anti reverse system which engages immediately, providing a solid connection when setting the hook and fighting fish.

Designed For Heavy Duty Use

A CNC machined aluminium handle provides excellent leverage when winding against heavy resistance.

The handle is fitted with a comfortable TPE grip which provides secure control even when fishing with wet hands.

The stainless steel main shaft further increases strength through the centre of the reel.

A rotor brake controls rotor movement when casting, while the manual bail system used on the 10000 model is designed specifically for heavy saltwater fishing.

The spool also incorporates thin line capacity markings, making it easier to monitor how much line has been loaded.
