PENN Surfblaster IV Long Cast Reel

The PENN Surfblaster IV is the latest generation of the hugely popular Surfblaster long cast reel, designed for serious beach and surf anglers looking for excellent casting performance, precise line lay and dependable saltwater durability.

Building on the proven Surfblaster III, the Surfblaster IV introduces a number of important improvements including a rigid XRC carbon body, PENN Slow Leveline technology and a sealed drag system.

The lightweight yet rigid XRC carbon body helps keep the drivetrain correctly aligned when the reel is under load, reducing unwanted flex while casting or retrieving heavier rigs through tide and weed.

One of the biggest improvements is the PENN Slow Leveline system. This lays the line in extremely tight and even coils with up to 50 wraps per spool oscillation. The improved line lay helps line leave the spool smoothly during the cast, reducing resistance and helping anglers achieve excellent long range casting performance.

A premium main gear provides smooth and dependable winding power, while the sealed drag system helps protect the drag from water, salt, sand and dirt while providing smooth and consistent pressure when playing fish.

The Surfblaster IV uses a focused 3+1 stainless steel bearing system designed to provide smooth operation while maintaining reliability in demanding saltwater conditions.

Available in both 7000 and 8000 sizes with a choice of Grey or Silver finishes.

Which Size Should I Choose?

Surfblaster IV 7000

The 7000 is the slightly smaller option and is ideal for general beach and surf fishing where the maximum line capacity of the larger reel is not required.

Its reduced size makes it an excellent all round choice for anglers casting standard beach fishing rigs while still benefiting from the Surfblaster IV long cast spool and Slow Leveline system.

Surfblaster IV 8000

The larger 8000 provides increased line capacity and is the better choice for anglers looking for maximum casting range, fishing heavier ground or tackling situations where additional line capacity is useful.

It is particularly well suited to serious long range beach fishing and heavier surf conditions.
